Snow Plowing
Meet the fleet:
2000 Ford F150 7700 series
Equipped with 2001 Fisher 7.5' HD Insta-act electric over hydraulic Minute Mount plow. The 7700 series is Fords light duty 3/4 tonne. With a 7700lb GVRW, 4R100 1 tonne transmission and rear end, limited slip differential, transmission cooler, power steering cooler, HD battery, HD alternator and 3/4 tonne frame it is equipped to deal with mission critical snow clearing operations. Also equipped with backup lights and reverse alarm. Buyers plow wing extensions are used to speed up service for commercial parking areas.
1989 Toyota pickup
Equipped with 750lb over HD rear springs and a 6.5' Fisher Homesteader plow. Timbren/Bilstein suspension aids help it carry the load of the plow. The Toyota presents itself as a bullet proof backup plow truck which again can handle 95% of snow clearing operations. It's smaller size lends to higher maneouverability and visibility than the big trucks can offer.
Snow Blowing
Not all driveways are suitable for plowing. We also tend to blow walkways if excessive amounts of snow accumulates. Two of our plow trucks are equipped with snow blowers to meet these needs.
Snow Shoveling
After a busy summer we are all warmed up for shovelling some snow.
Sand/Salt Application
If the temperature permits, environmentally friendly ice melt is applied. At cooler temperatures we will opt for a sand mixture for traction control. Ice melt operations are in place for low snow accumulations. They are also applied after a snow event has passed.
Typical road salt, or calcium chloride, is a very corrosive and environmentally harmfull product to concrete and landscaped surfaces. It will kill your lawn and landscaping. We use Meltdown Absolute Zero Ice Melt which is safer for concrete, has low corrosive properties and is produced using solar evaporation (not fossil fuels). It is widely recognized as the highest quality and most environmentally de-icer in the world.
